About Richard Adams

Richard Adams  MA (integrative medicine) Dip Phyt. FNIMH  MCPP  MBHMA  is an established Medical Herbalist, or, Phytotherapist, with over 20 years of experience. He enjoys general family practices, in Greenwich and Stratford in London. His practice is informed by medical science but is essentially holistic in the Western tradition.

 

Alongside his herbal self care clinic, he helped set up the first university BSc degree course in the UK. His work in this field culminated in the setting up of the Archway Clinic of Herbal Medicine, the nations largest training clinic of its kind, on behalf of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists and Middlesex University.

He has lectured at many universities and given many public talks including at the Natural History Museum, London. Published widely he has also contributed to the BBC's television series 'Grow your own drugs'. He currently provides Continuing professional development training for health care practitioners.

His Selfcare consultations cover diet, nutrients, exercise and relaxation recommendations related to mind and body. He uses natural, sustainable, plant medicines in his eco-therapy approach. Richard treats people rather than their pathologies in a therapeutic partnership that helps individuals to optimise their own health, performance and vitality.

 

A Fellow of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists (founded in 1864), and member of the College of Practicing Phytotherapists, College of Medicine and the British Herbal Medicine Association. Richard has served the people of London for more than twenty five years.
